Beaded Dolls - One day

A class with Larkin Jean Van Horn:

Beaded Dolls - One day

Time: One full day, six classroom hours
Skill level: All
There is no additional kit fee for this class

Humans have been making dimensional forms for millenia — as sculpture, containers, commemoratives — not to mention the soft, comforting creations that delight small hands. This class will focus on small, fully beaded forms, to delight the eyes or as meditation aids, and will cover design, beading techniques, and construction. The process lends itself to many different shapes, so if you want to make a heart, star, or other form rather than a creature with a face, we can do that as well.

Additional Resources:

I am a big fan of supporting our local shops, but if there is not a bead shop in your neck of the woods, here are a few of my favorite online sources:

Shipwreck Beads — Lacey, Washington
If you are in driving distance of Lacey (just north of Olympia) this place is a must see store — 80,000 square feet of beads!
Fire Mountain Gems and Beads — Grants Pass, Oregon
Great selection of crystals.
Beyond Beadery — Rollinsville, Colorado
Best source for permanent finish metallic seed beads — hard to find, but well worth the price.
Cartwright's Sequins — Mountainburg, Arkansas
The best source for sequins.
Beadcats — Wilsonville, Oregon
The best variety of beading thread colors. The website is no help in choosing, but call Carol and tell her I sent you.
